Providing an Appointed Person
As a First Aid Appointed Person it is important to understand your responsibilities when it comes to first aid provision.
This course provides an understanding of the roles and responsibilities, exploring the health and safety regulations and the requirements when it comes to assessing first aid needs in the workplace.
As part of the course, the learner will understand how to assess the scene of an incident, prioritise treatment, communicate with casualties, and learn the importance of their role when it comes to liaising with emergency services and get the help needed.

Where an employer’s assessment of First Aid needs identifies that a First Aider or Emergency First Aider is not necessary, the minimum requirement on an employer is to appoint a person to take charge of the First Aid arrangements, including looking after equipment and facilities, and calling the emergency services when required.

Understand the role and responsibilities of an Appointed Person
Determine the equipment and facilities requirements and monitor provision
Understand the legislation
Understand accident reporting and investigation processes, including RIDDOR
Conduct a first aid needs assessment, and develop a first aid action plan and policy

On successful completion, all learners will receive an certificate of attendance.

This training will support employers in understanding their roles and responsibilities when it comes to first aid provision in the workplace.
The course will provide the Appointed Person with the knowledge needed to undertake their role.

Learners must be aged 18 years or over. It is recommended that learners hold a minimum of level 1 in literacy or equivalent to undertake this qualification.
