Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 the responsible person must ensure that employees are provided with adequate fire safety training at the time they are first employed, exposed to new or increased risks.
Employers must also provide suitable and sufficient instruction and training on the appropriate precautions and actions to be taken by the employee, in order to safeguard themselves and other relevant persons.
Training must be periodically repeated where appropriate, adapted to take account of any new or changed risks, and provided in a manner appropriate to the risk identified through the risk assessment process.

This qualification is a perfect introductory course to fire safety. The training provides learners with an understanding of the key principles of fire safety from cause to prevention and response.

On successful completion, all learners will receive an FAA Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (RQF) / Level 4 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (SCQF).

This qualification is an ideal introduction to fire safety for employees and a strong basis for undertaking further fire safety training.

Learners must be aged 14 years or over, and it is recommended that learners hold a minimum of level 1 in literacy (or equivalent) to undertake this qualification.

This course is delivered remotely via video conferencing software. Our approved, quality-assured trainers will be available for the full duration of the course. The total qualification time is 5 hours, and includes a period of self-study for those studying remotely.
Training will be delivered via a variety of resources including webinars, presentations, group activities etc.

There is no expiry on the certification. Regular refreshers are strongly advised to remain up to date with policies, procedures and new legislation through ongoing training.

Assessment is conducted through a written assessment. There is no grading of the assessment, learners pass or are referred.
